Bio

Dree Mon, a project and moniker from award-winning song-writer Dree Paterson, described as "the sardonic love child between David Bowie and Wonder Woman from the valley,"  is a Los Angeles based, funky pop artist who made her debut with "Rebel Soul," which now has over 150K plays on Spotify alone.

"Rebel Soul," is a blissful combination of retro-pop, old school soul, and dance, with hints of indie laced throughout. Her gorgeous voice stands at the forefront of the song, making "Rebel Soul," easily a standout piece. It's catchy, vibrant, and full of life, showing her true self." - Paste Magazine

Dree Mon did not always dream of being an artist and songwriter. She began as a dancer backing up other artists. Her trajectory was forever altered when she was struck by a car, throwing her dancing career into jeopardy. After the accident, Paterson (as she was known then) began writing songs as a therapeutic outlet. And while she eventually got back to her dancing career for awhile, the music seed was planted and eventually took over. In the ensuing years, Dree built a new path for herself, utilizing her creativity and music as a guiding light, and began to share her songs with the world.  The life-changing event opened Dree up to the world of creating music as an artist- eventually leading her to start Dree Mon (2017) as a reminder to always go for your dreams, no matter how far they may seem.

As Dree Paterson (her current songwriting alias), she released “Waiting (When I See You)” - a memorable retro adult-contemporary anthem.  She followed with her debut EP, “A Louder Side of Me” (2014), which demonstrated her sophisticated songwriting and her ability to show attitude with a touch of quirkiness. 2017 then saw the release of new project "Dree Mon" and song “Rebel Soul”, a danceable funk tune calling for everyone to cut loose and have fun. “Rebel Soul” can be heard in Netflix film “High Strung: Free Dance."

Dree Mon's music and music videos have landed her on the For Your Consideration Ballot of the 2018 Grammy Awards, and her songwriting has been featured across many media outlets, including TV shows (“Parenthood” and “White Collar”), channel ESPN, Netflix ("High Strung Free Dance") and more Films (“No Service”, “Wingman Inc!”, and “Love of War”), web series (“Liv Out Loud”), and she had a cut and a feature on Swedish Spirit Soul Records with "Put Your Lips Like This," a funky nudisco Radio Mix by Sylow and Jako Diaz and corresponding remix by Alex Hook.  Dree also performs frequently on stages around Southern California, where she brings her unique blend of influences to her live setup, now since Covid 19 her online shows have blown up on such platforms as Twitch and Sessions Live where she is. fast growing a name for herself.  Her vigorous streaming schedule invited sponsorship from music gear titan Mackie earlier in 2020. Inspired by such artists as Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder, and Jamiroquai, Dree Mon’s music is a blend of modern production and classic funk elements. Her music has earned her many accolades, such as an award from the Indie Music Channel, the RAWard's (Producer Choice), the LA Critic Awards (Best Music Video), and a Temecula Valley Music Award.

Through this project, Dree Mon got to perform at coveted locations such as the prestigious Hotel Cafe in Hollywood and the acclaimed NAMM showcase with more than 150K attendees. Her latest single "Love Me At. My Best" produced by Swedish born Simon Jacobson comes out December 11, 2020 along with a video that will make you feel so much self confidence and love you will never not celebrate who you are!  Dree Mon's  vision; is super funky, feel good, energetic, retro and contagious, while remaining deeply personal. New Music "Put Your Lips Like This"

When my song "No Chill" came out in 2018, I submitted to many playlists and one curator contacted me about creating some future songs. Turned out he was with Spirit Soul Records of Sweden and we ended up creating "Put Your Lips Like This" which included his artists Sylow and Jako Diaz and my good friend producer and co-writer Shani Rose. I didn't have a good spot to record vocals and Shani was just finishing up a music production program at Cre8 Music academy where I…
